About The Position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Hardware Design Engineer develops creative and technically sound engineering solutions for assigned projects. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting hardware systems while demonstrating increasing levels of accountability, technical expertise, and leadership. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, quality standards, and performance expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-6+ years of professional experience in engineering and product development
  • Possesses good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD.
  • Intermediate knowledge in geometric tolerance analysis.
  • Proficient in documentation, dimensioning, and specification writing.
  • Experience designing for varied types of fabrication and production, especially sheet metal, weldments, injection molding.
  • Experience with automation, material handling or robotics.
  • Proficient using hand tools and building/fabricating large prototypes.
  • Synthesizes and drives towards appropriate solutions.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Able to own system designs and proactively suggest and implement design improvements.
  • Adequately uses Microsoft Office applications: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
  • Detail oriented work style and service.
  • Works and thinks in a methodical and logical way.
  • Prioritizes and completes tasks to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Thinks for clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, significance, logic, and fairness.
  • Writes and prepares documents/reports/proposals in a concise and logical format.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Solidworks PDM and Agile PLM a plus.
