HPE is looking for motivated and talented individual to serve as Hardware Design Engineer for our Access Point WIFI development for Wireless LAN Access Points. You will be working in a dynamic and cross functional team that develops networking products from concept all the way to production. Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies, and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

  • Design portions of engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
  • Participate as a member of project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for low to moderately-complex products.
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or 4 years industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience with designing and executing tests to validate Access Point Hardware.
  • Must have good debugging and bring up skills to find root cause problems either in test setup or design related.
  • Design and architecture of enterprise Access Point WIFI systems (Bluetooth, WIFI and Zigbee).
  • Collect Design Validation Test (DVT) data, compile, analyze, and interpret test data.
  • Follow and in some cases define the procedures needed to test various aspects of our products to ensure proper and expected behavior; in the cases where performance is not met, work with design engineers to correct and bring into compliance.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and layout.
  • Lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Current sources, etc.
  • General familiarity with working in Linux, command prompt, CLI, and telnet.
  • Good mastery of Excel, writing and presenting reports, drafting procedures, documentation, and effective communication by email.
  • Networking different pieces of equipment together.
  • Ability to learn and work with third party custom tool software.
  • Embedded compute experience and/or power systems experience (PCB Boards or Microprocessors).
