About The Position

Robbins Maritime, Inc. is a leading tug and barge company, established in 1986 and headquartered in Norfolk, VA. We specialize in providing reliable and efficient maritime support services along the East Coast and Gulf Coast of the United States.
We are seeking a Captain to manage and operate Truckable tugboats in the harbor. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of operating a tugboat whether pushing ahead, towing alongside, or towing astern, an understanding of machinery spaces and experience with rigging.

Requirements

• Merchant Mariners Credentials (Captain license)
• Valid Driver License
• Valid TWIC Card
• Must be able to pass Merchant Mariner Physical/CG-719K and Drug Screening
• Must have a Satisfactory Background Check
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Physical fitness and the ability to handle the demands of working on a vessel
• Subject to Random Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the vessels
• Ensure the safety of all crew members
• Maintain the vessel in good condition
• Manage the crew and delegate tasks as needed
• Keep accurate records of all trips and maintenance performed
