About The Position

Service Leaders act as day-to-day leads within the Hannaford To Go department. With support for and from the Hannaford To Go Supervisor, Service Leaders ensure the department operates efficiently and provides an exceptional customer experience. Service Leaders give direction to Expeditors and Shoppers while also operating, hands on, within those roles as needed. As a leader, Service Leaders role model the service excellence we expect of all our associates. Through direction and attention to operational detail, a Service Leader ensures customers receive an exceptional experience during every Hannaford To Go transaction. As a Hannaford To Go Service Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day includes the following: Lead the Hannaford To Go Department operations in accordance with established department standard practices, in the absence of the Hannaford To Go Supervisor. Support excellent customer service and goodwill by role modeling and providing high standards in customer service and sales building. Support that department conditions involving appearance, safety, sanitation, and food safety are maintained at the highest level. Use good judgement in the delegation, assignment, and follow up required for the efficient performance of the department. Provide real time teaching on Shopping or Expediting process issues. Reports any issues or concerns relative to associate performance or behavior to the Assistant Store Manager. Assist in training and developing associates to meet department needs. Maintain solid communication in the department and with store management. Observe and follow all company policies, established standard practices and legal requirements. Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements for the Hannaford To Go Service.
  • A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Retail customer service experience preferred.
  • Understanding of store operations preferred.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance.
  • Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner with the most immediate attention given to refrigerated and other perishable items.
  • Support and comply with all company safety standards.
  • Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed.
  • Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to recognize and differentiate between the various types of produce merchandise carried in the store.
  • Record on designated forms any price discrepancies and/or any 'not on file' items that are encountered on electronic point-of-sale terminal.
  • Secure registers, Mobile Point of Sale Equipment, Shopping Devices when leaving it unattended; protect company assets at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
