About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC, is a family-owned manufacturer & distributor of quality meat & cheese products. The company is looking for individuals seeking a stable career with a dedicated employer that has a proven track record for success and is continuously growing, with locations in Stevens and Womelsdorf. As a meat processing laborer, you will work in a fast-paced production environment, performing manual labor regarding all aspects of the stuffing and processing of various meat products. All laborers will be required to assist in any department (other than their primary department) when and where their assistance is required. All employees are required to work safely.

Requirements

Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Understand all aspects of company recipes
Capable of lifting 80 lb. bags of recipe spices
Consistent & reliable attendance
Ability to follow instructions and procedures
A good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules
Good powers of observation to observe problems with products
Concentration for repetitive tasks
Accuracy and attention to detail
A good team worker with skills and the ability to work alone
Flexible
Must be at least 18 years old to operate OSHA-mandated equipment

Responsibilities

Perform manual labor regarding all aspects of the stuffing and processing of various meat products
Assist in any department (other than their primary department) when and where their assistance is required
Work safely
Mark product bins, cages, and carts with identifying code information
Track product yields, pump percentages, & formulate meat blocks
Document all production-related activities pertaining to the Product Traceability Computer System
Keep work area neat, clean, and hazard-free
