About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at Community Options, Inc. is responsible for maintaining and repairing residential homes, facilities, and vehicles for individuals with disabilities. This part-time role involves developing maintenance schedules, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while working closely with local management and external contractors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
• Ability to work safely with hands and power tools
• Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks
• Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely manner
• Ensure repairs are made timely in a way that is safe and in compliance with local laws and regulations
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components including appliances, fans, lights, flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, spackling, and basic electrical or plumbing work
• Advise management when an outside contractor may be necessary
• Review contractor estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs
• Follow OSHA guidelines for safety and the proper handling of tools
• Cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
