About The Position

Empire Cincinnati is seeking a motivated Handyman Apprentice to join our growing home renovation company. This entry-level contractor position is ideal for individuals eager to learn and develop their skills in the construction and home renovation industry. The apprentice will perform general handyman tasks under the guidance of experienced professionals, focusing on quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; college degree or trade school certification preferred.
• Previous experience or knowledge in handyman tasks, construction, or home renovation.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to make simple process decisions independently.
• Customer service experience, with an ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and clean-cut appearance.
• Must own a reliable vehicle (truck not necessary).
• Ohio driver's license required.
• Ownership of basic tools is a plus, but not required.
• Clean criminal record (no felonies or violent crimes).
• Character references and previous employer or educational references are required.

• Previous experience in maintenance or handyman tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic handyman tasks, including tiling, plumbing finishes, light electrical work (switches/outlets), fitting doors, and other simple home repairs.
• Assist with various home renovation projects with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.
• Demonstrate independent problem-solving skills and critical thinking in completing assigned tasks.
• Interact professionally with clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Show initiative and take ownership of tasks without needing step-by-step instructions.
• Follow job site safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.
