About The Position

Work safely and observe all plant safety, GMP, and food safety rules. Responsible for the safe and effective use of industrial lift trucks in accordance with plant procedures. Must be able to train and become licensed to operate lift truck(s). Routinely unload raw materials, equipment, ingredients and other items from truck/rail which is required for plant production and ensure that they are assigned and stored in proper locations. Follow department paperwork procedures, verify bills of lading and perform required paperwork as defined by the department. Perform bay maintenance and support inventory control.

Requirements

  • Work safely
  • Lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Perform visual inspections of materials and products.
  • Record simple data on paper and/or via keyboard.
  • Read and understand simple written instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong Computer Literacy skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional business-like appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment background check, and pre-employment physical.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and GMP rules to assure zero accidents and compliance with plant industrial lift truck licensing program and food safety regulations.
  • Perform material handling duties which include but are not limited to:
  • Freezer/Cooler storage of product
  • Storage in bays, racks and other sites as defined by standard procedures.
  • Support other staging and duties as directed.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Perform bay maintenance.
  • Support department inventory control programs.
  • Perform physical labor to load and unload partial pallets and/or make up full pallets.
  • Maintain simple records and paperwork related to inventory and quality.
  • Performs other duties required of the position or as directed.
