Job Location: This position is 3 days per week in Mineola, New York (22 Jericho Turnpike) and 2 days per week at a clinic in Queens or elsewhere on Long Island. Requirements
- Licensed in NYS as an Occupational Therapist
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
- Basic computer skills
- CPR and first aid certification required
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) strongly preferred OR
- CHT-eligible (minimum 4,000 hours of hand therapy experience and 3 years of practice), awaiting board examination, OR
- Level II fieldwork in hand therapy, with relevant continuing education, and 1–2 years of outpatient hand therapy experience as a licensed OT; NO New Grads
- Experience treating orthopedic upper-extremity conditions, with a primary focus on adult patients preferred. Expertise includes elbow, wrist, hand, and finger fractures; Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; Trigger Fingers; Osteoarthritis; Rheumatoid Arthritis; tendinopathies; nerve injuries; post-surgical care; and tendon repairs/transfers.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing patient medical history and developing individualized treatment plans
- Diagnosing patients by observing movements and listening to concerns
- Using exercises, stretching, equipment, and manual therapy to manage pain and improve mobility
- Recording patient progress and modifying treatment plans as needed
