About The Position

Ready to build something meaningful with your hands and grow your skills in a high-tech environment? Emerald Technologies is looking for a motivated Hand Solderer I to join our Medford team! This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone eager to learn, develop hands-on skills, and start a career in electronics manufacturing. In this role, you’ll work with Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), gaining valuable experience in soldering, assembly, and quality standards like IPC Class, all while being supported by a collaborative and knowledgeable team. Emerald Technologies is an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, focusing on high-reliability electronic assemblies. With design and manufacturing facilities in California, Michigan, New Hampshire, Oregon, as well as in China and Malaysia. Emerald Technologies specializes in high mix, low- to medium-volume manufacturing for high-reliability markets in the Aerospace/Defense, Life Sciences, Renewable Energy, Industrial Controls, Power & Infrastructure, Semiconductor, and Telecommunications sectors. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0–1 year of soldering or assembly experience (hobby experience counts!)
  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification is a plus—but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on soldering of thru-hole and SMT components (we’ll help you learn!)
  • Assemble and rework PCBAs following detailed instructions and documentation
  • Inspect solder joints and identify common defects like bridges or cold joints
  • Maintain accurate production logs and follow established processes
  • Partner with experienced team members to troubleshoot and improve your skills
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality standards to ensure top-notch results
