About The Position

Responsible for performing production work in a manufacturing setting, specifically the Hand Ops Department (485). Develop the skills and ability to complete all of the essential functions of Grinding Hand Ops. Responsible for daily preventative maintenance of equipment used, cleanliness of work area and delivery of product to next operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of W.R. Case Job/Safety Orientation.
  • On the job training.

Responsibilities

  • Assuring work area is safe.
  • Performing the various skills of the Grinding Hand Ops department, including but not limited to:
  • Swedge Blades
  • Buffing blades, Grease buffing covered scales to polish and remove grind lines.
  • Set up and run certain machines such as but not limited to (crinking, serrating, grease buff wheel, blade buff wheel, double head machine, press, mill, gimping machine, load and unload vibratory bowls, tapping machine, ball bearing machine.
  • Perform sandpaper/belt changes as required.
  • Perform various wheel changes as required.
  • Assist with operation of the bowls as needed.
  • Breaking in the new buff/raking down buff as necessary.
  • Properly applying grease to sandpaper.
  • Perform inspection of product, performing required inspection before, during and after each process to ensure product meets acceptable quality criteria.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the work area during and upon his or her completion of jobs.
  • Take instructions from supervisors.
  • Assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed.
