About The Position

Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Composite Hand Lamination Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing composite layup operations to manufacture high-quality composite parts. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in pre - preg ply placement on open face tooling , ply orientation and material consolidation technique s.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Reliable, punctual and have dependable transportation.
  • Able to verbally communicate read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of computers for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and inspection equipment .
  • Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs aided or unaided.
  • Able to become certified to wear a respirator.
  • Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials .

Responsibilities

  • Perform tooling prep operations in preparation for lamination .
  • Prepare and organize composite materials in preparation for l amination .
  • Apply composite materials onto molds or tooling surfaces using techniques like hand layup or automated processes.
  • Ensure proper ply orientation, ply thickness, and material consolidation is achieve d.
  • Proficiency in vacuum bagging techniques for composite layup operations .
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Basic use of computer s for documentation and record-keeping purposes .
