About The Position

Under general supervision de-burrs, grinds, polishes, and cleans machined parts in order to provide a quality product. Inspects products and reports any defects that occur from handling. Uses general equipment like de-burring tools, power grinders, hand tools, and vibratory de-burring equipment along with solvents, emery paper, polishing compounds, compressed air and part washing machines. This is a 2nd shift position from 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a deburring, finishing, or precision assembly role in aerospace, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems (AS9100) and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to work under magnification for extended periods.
  • Prior experience deburring, grinding and polishing precision machines parts
  • Previous inspection experience
  • Prior experience using micrometers and calipers
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools, including small files and deburr knives.
  • Requires dexterity and fine motor skills to handle tools, inspect parts, and perform precise deburring tasks
  • Capable of standing or sitting for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of constant hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and industrial machinery
  • Must work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, mostly in very close proximity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, etc.) is a plus.
  • Prior experience flow testing and pressure testing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and analyze machined aerospace parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface irregularities using magnification tools and blueprints/specifications.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and other imperfections using hand tools, abrasive wheels, stones, scrapers, small power tools (e.g., Dremels, grinders), and polishing equipment.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, engineering specifications, and process sheets to ensure conformance.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards as per aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Perform in-process and final deburring operations in collaboration with machinists, inspectors, and engineers.
  • Document work completed and maintain traceability according to company and industry standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, ensuring tools and workspaces are maintained in good condition.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned
