We’re currently seeking a motivated individual to fill our open 1st and 2nd shift Hand Assembly Assistant PT & FT position in New Paltz, NY. The Hand Assembly Assistant supports the final stages of the manufacturing process by preparing finished products for shipment. This hands-on role focuses on inspecting print quality, counting and stacking products, assembling partitions, and preparing boxes to meet customer specifications. This position is an entry-level opportunity and a natural stepping stone toward advancement into machine-support roles, including Assistant Machine Operator. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic math skills, including counting and simple measurements.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to measure to the 16th of an inch with a tape measure
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished products for print quality, accuracy, and visible defects prior to shipment.
  • Count, stack, and box finished products according to work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Assemble partitions, inserts, and related components as required by specific orders.
  • Dust and wire-brush boxes to ensure a clean, professional final product.
  • Verify order quantities and report discrepancies or quality concerns to a supervisor.
  • Stage completed orders for shipping or the next step in the production process.
  • Accurately complete basic production or quality documentation as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and shipping needs.
