We’re currently seeking a motivated individual to fill our open 1st shift Hand Assembly Assistant position in New Paltz, NY. The Hand Assembly Assistant supports the final stages of the manufacturing process by preparing finished products for shipment. This hands-on role focuses on inspecting print quality, counting and stacking products, assembling partitions, and preparing boxes to meet customer specifications. This position is an entry-level opportunity and a natural stepping stone toward advancement into machine-support roles, including Assistant Machine Operator. Ready to become a Viking?

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Basic math skills, including counting and simple measurements.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to measure to the 16 th of an inch with a tape measure
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Inspect finished products for print quality, accuracy, and visible defects prior to shipment.
Count, stack, and box finished products according to work instructions and customer requirements.
Assemble partitions, inserts, and related components as required by specific orders.
Dust and wire-brush boxes to ensure a clean, professional final product.
Verify order quantities and report discrepancies or quality concerns to a supervisor.
Stage completed orders for shipping or the next step in the production process.
Accurately complete basic production or quality documentation as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and shipping needs.
