About The Position

Holidays are the heart of belonging. The JFCS Hag Sameach (“Happy Holidays”) program ensures that families in the Twin Cities in the Jewish and broader communities can celebrate these holidays with dignity and joy. Hag Sameach provides personalized holiday gifts, ritual items, and household necessities to families and individuals who are in need. We serve the community each year for Passover and Winter Holidays, as well as year-round through our Beyond The Holidays program. In 2024, Hag Sameach served 316 individuals for Passover and 813 individuals for the Winter Holidays. The Hag Sameach Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Hag Sameach program, bringing a values-driven vision that centers the dignity and autonomy of participants and their families. This role builds collaborative partnerships with local organizations and synagogues to enhance impact and reach. The Coordinator recruits, manages, and mobilizes hundreds of volunteers, fostering meaningful engagement activities and maximizing volunteer contributions. This position also manages warehouse donation inventory, oversees client referral processes, and supports the work of an active volunteer steering committee. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend availability. The role averages 25 hours per week, with more hours during peak holiday program times and less hours during off seasons. Wage and Benefits Package: $27.00 hourly rate. Requirements

Minimum two years of experience in program management, community engagement, and/or event planning.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and engage volunteers and/or extensive experience in a volunteer leadership role.
Proven oral and written skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Knowledge of Twin Cities Jewish community partnerships and opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to translate an inspiring vision into clear implementation plans with defined tasks, timelines, and roles.
Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills in both individual and group settings.
Skilled in detail-oriented event planning and seamless execution.
Energized by designing and leading creative projects and community-building experiences.
Effective at fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for volunteers, partners, and clients of all identities.
Exceptional organizational and space-management skills to support a dynamic inventory of donations.

Responsibilities

Coordinate a year-round program calendar, including communications, client referrals, volunteer shifts, gift assembly, delivery, and evaluation.
Manage and support an active steering committee of volunteers, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
Develop virtual forms, clear email instructions, engaging presentations, and strong relationships to collect client referrals from JFCS staff and Jewish communal partners.
Generate creative, culturally responsive, and relevant gift ideas that reflect the diverse interests, needs, and identities of clients.
Establish streamlined processes for collecting, organizing, and maintaining client and volunteer data.
Oversee and organize a warehouse of donated inventory, including toys, coats, household items, and ritual items, and maintain an up-to-date online registry.
Manage program administrative tasks, such as processing reimbursements and supporting day-to-day operations.
Collaborate with the administrative team on client data management and tracking systems.
Partner with the communications team to support program promotion, outreach, and storytelling.
Plan and schedule engaging and productive volunteer shifts for groups and individuals.
Build ongoing, meaningful relationships with volunteers and community leaders.
Coordinate and facilitate group volunteer events for adults and/or children.
Establish and utilize effective platforms for volunteer data management and communication.
Build and nurture relationships with Jewish clergy, educators, lay leaders, and peer organizations to expand reach of community referrals.
Promote volunteer, donation, and Adopt-A-Family involvement through community outreach presentations, meetings, and events.
Participate in team/agency meetings, retreats, and trainings.
Actively contribute to the agency community by participating in committees, workgroups, or other collaborative efforts that support agency goals and foster a positive work environment.
