About The Position

The Stronghold Gift Shop Cashier assists customers with merchandise questions, completes sales transactions, and maintains displays according to merchandising standards. The position involves operating a cash register and preparing all shift opening and closing duties. The cashier is expected to demonstrate hospitality behaviors and performance standards, take ownership of problems, and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Six months to one year job-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Bicultural experience preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with merchandise questions.
• Complete sales transactions and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Operate cash register and prepare all shift opening and closing duties.
• Provide guests with directions or other venue information.
• Act upon all complaints in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner.
• Record amounts received and prepare reports of transactions per shift.
• Issue credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
• Assist gift shop supervisors in maintaining inventory records for store merchandise.
• Assist gift shop supervisors in setting up and maintaining all store displays.
• Perform other duties as required.
