About The Position

The H60 Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor at Naval Test Wing Pacific (NTWP) in China Lake, CA is responsible for planning and coordinating all aircraft maintenance activities, including inspections and monitoring of assigned tasks. The supervisor will keep the Maintenance Director informed about aircraft status and manage work assignments to ensure aircraft availability in support of flight schedule requirements. The role involves monitoring the NALCOMIS/OOMA system, preparing daily Aircraft Maintenance Status Readiness Reports, and coordinating outstanding maintenance actions. Compliance with NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series is essential, along with maintaining aircraft historical records and ensuring work areas are orderly and safe. The supervisor will also instruct and assist in training subordinate employees and may reassign contract personnel as needed to support daily flight operations.

Requirements

  • Military VMET or JST must be included with application if prior military
  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred, or High School graduate or equivalent with USN/USMC aircraft maintenance management experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and material support
  • Ten years of the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification
  • Six of the last ten years' experience in a supervisory position in aircraft maintenance
  • Experience supervising daily flight operations personnel
  • Experience in writing with clarity and technical accuracy
  • Possess valid U.S. driver license
  • Able to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Clearance; active clearance preferred

  • Knowledgeable of technical directives and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series
  • Possess working knowledge of applicable aircraft AV-8

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates all aircraft maintenance activities; inspections (special, conditional, phase, etc.)
  • Dispatch and monitor assigned tasks and associated jobs to work centers
  • Keep Maintenance Director briefed on Aircraft status
  • Manage work assignments to ensure aircraft availability in support of Flight Schedule requirements
  • Monitor the NALCOMIS/OOMA system to report all work performed and current work status
  • Prepare daily Aircraft Maintenance Status Readiness Report (AMSRR) reports
  • Coordinate and prioritize outstanding maintenance actions
  • Comply with NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series
  • Maintain aircraft historical records and various other aircraft files
  • Responsible for mission configurations and coordinate with civil service work centers
  • Ensure and coordinate work centers' written pass down logbooks
  • Verify all Maintenance Action Documentation prior to submission to the Navy
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner
  • Instruct and assist in training of subordinate employees
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Assist other shops/skills as required
  • Task personnel in transporting pilots when necessary
