About The Position

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for an Environmental Supervisor. The Environmental Supervisor will be responsible for the safety and production of the Hydrogen Sulfide Treatment Plant, Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS), and Leachate Collection System (LCS) systems as required by Local, County, State and Federal regulations. The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise daily operations and oversee the maintenance of all treatment systems and associated equipment.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree (or higher) in a field related to environmental sciences, engineering, or chemistry
  • A minimum of five years of experience in operation and maintenance of a chemical treatment plant
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Has experience using field testing equipment, meters and various sampling equipment.
  • Has experience in the use of hand, power and pneumatic tools.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting operating manuals, schematics, and drawing.
  • PLC, SCADA, and other controls experience.
  • Has experience working on blowers and electric motors, pneumatic and electric pumps.
  • Safety oriented

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Environmental Technicians.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the safe, efficient, and secure operation of the chemical treatment plant, and associated systems.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the plant, GCCS, LCS and ensure that all processes are running efficiently and meeting safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and materials, and train workers in safety techniques.
  • Monitor equipment and machinery for proper functioning and frequent maintenance and repair as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot any operational issues.
  • Training technicians on proper operating procedures.
  • Monitoring emission and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety training and daily huddles.
  • Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
