About The Position

The position involves performing various welding processes such as GTAW and Resistance in different positions, including automated welding and fabrication techniques. The role requires working with a variety of metals, including stainless steel, Inco, and cobalt, and handling tubing and fittings of various sizes to produce aircraft engine hardware. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining equipment, tools, and turntables to ensure parts meet aircraft quality specifications according to drawings and blueprints. The role also involves performing mathematical calculations, using precision measuring equipment, and interpreting technical documents to determine welding and fabrication setups. Additional duties include supporting environmental, health, safety, and quality initiatives, training, and maintaining detailed documentation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in precision weld-fabrication disciplines, or an Associate degree or Technical Certificate in a related field.
  • Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the set-up and operation of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the set-up and operation of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), brazing, soldering, and automated welding tools.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical/weld/fabrication blueprints.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Experience in fabrication-related disciplines.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma fundamentals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various weld processes (GTAW, Resistance) in various positions.

  • Perform intermediate mathematical calculations and use precision measuring equipment.

  • Support environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and quality initiatives.
  • Train others in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Maintain detailed job task documentation, reports, and records.
