About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Gynecology Certified Medical Assistant , also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Gynecology or Gynecology R egistered Medical Assistant (RMA) . Gynecology CMAs will support gynecologists and women's health providers by performing both clinical and administrative tasks focused on reproductive health care. Their role is specialized to assist with exams, procedures, and patient education related to gynecologic and obstetric needs. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
  • Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for pelvic exams, Pap smears, and other gynecological procedures by taking vitals, obtaining medical histories, and explaining the process
  • Assist providers during exams and minor procedures such as IUD insertions, colposcopies, biopsies, and prenatal visits
  • Collect and process specimens for Pap tests, cultures, and other lab work
  • Administer medications and immunizations like HPV vaccines as directed by the provider
  • Provide patient education on contraception, menstrual health, pregnancy care, STI prevention, and menopause
  • Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and handle insurance verifications
  • Document all clinical interactions and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and support infection control protocols
