About The Position

The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for a variety of duties, including having a thorough understanding of the guidelines concerning the operation of the gymnastics program, maintaining good communication with parents, supervision and leadership of their class, weekly preparations, and documentation. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include: Responsible for teaching groups of 8-16 children on all gymnastics apparatus. Assist Coordinator in curriculum planning. Required to attend staff meetings Required to participate in all planned activities on a daily basis, as well as special activities. Responsible for the daily physical set up of the practice area. Maintenance of equipment and storage areas. Cooperate with co-workers and administrative staff Complete all necessary forms as needed (lesson plans, accident reports, student evaluations, certificates). Insure the safety of students at all times Maintain good communication with parents keeping them informed of activities and child’s progress Attend 16 hours of in-service training per year Adhere to the general rules and policies of the Rolling Meadows Park District.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Must have successful experience in gymnastics and working with children.
  • Morning availability (9 am-12 pm) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in USAG competitive gymnastics and or college-level competition is desired but not a requirement.
  • USAG Safety certification preferred.
