About The Position

The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for teaching a range of gymnastics classes from toddler through advanced team levels in a manner that promotes growth and learning. This position requires a variety of duties including, possessing a thorough understanding of the program’s operation and guidelines, maintaining good communication, weekly preparation, and documentation. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include: Teach groups of 8-16 children on all gymnastics apparatus with fun and excitement Teach participants to “try again” and the importance of determination Assist in curriculum planning Attend all staff meetings as required Participate in all planned activities and special activities on a daily basis Set up and clean up practice and storage areas before and after each class Complete all necessary forms as needed (lesson plans, accident reports, and student evaluations) Insure the safety of students at all times Maintain good communication with parents keeping them informed of activities and child’s progress Attend 16 hours of in-service training per year Adhere to the general rules and policies of the Rolling Meadows Park District Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age with successful experience in gymnastics and working with children
  • CPR/ AED/ First Aid certification required
  • Outgoing, responsible, and motivated individual is crucial

Nice To Haves

  • USAG competitive gymnastics and/or college level competition experience a plus
