About The Position

At Scottsdale Gymnastics and Trampoline we are dedicated to fostering a love for movement, fitness, and fun in a safe and supportive gymnastics environment. Our programs focus on gymnastics, tumbling and ninja training for all ages and skill levels. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our coaching team! As an Entry-Level Gymnastics and Ninja Coach, you will play a key role in teaching and inspiring young athletes in gymnastics and ninja skills. The schedule for this position is variable, allowing for flexibility while meeting the needs of our students. We prefer a minimum of 3 days availability and a willingness to assist in special events at the gym throughout each month. In addition, we offer the opportunity to develop coaching skills while being part of a supportive community. Class Hours: Monday - Thursday from 3:20 PM to 7:25 PM Friday from 3:20 PM – 9:30 PM Saturday from 8:50 AM - 12:00 PM Additional hours are available on Friday evenings and Saturdays for birthday parties and special events. We require our coaches to be available to assist with special events throughout the month on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

Requirements

• Passion for gymnastics and working with children
• Availability to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and follow coaching guidelines and safety protocols
• Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away
• Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym
• Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes
• Ability to spot a student, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds
• Ability to move equipment including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to maintain a consistent evening schedule. The kids need their coach to be in the gym

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in gymnastics (participation, coaching, or related roles) is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Coaching basic to intermediate gymnastics and ninja skills, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment
• Providing positive reinforcement and constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills
• Communicating effectively with children, parents, and fellow coaches
• Learning new techniques, skills, spotting methods, and progressions to help challenge the children in your classes
• Assisting with special events, including but not limited to camps, skills clinics, birthday parties, open gyms, etc
• Adaptable to changes in the schedule and assist with additional events as needed
