As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will help to transform the minds of others by focusing on creating a healthy mind and body for our members. We are looking for individuals to help support our mission of strengthening the community through healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. This job is fully on-site, not remote. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS In this role, you are expected to be an active and visible presence in the gymnasium at all times while monitoring the open basketball. You have the authority to address and correct any disruptive behavior to ensure a safe, respectful, and structured environment. Players must remain off the gymnastics equipment, maintain composure, and follow the Y’s Code of Conduct. Additional expectations for this role include: Actively supervising the space. Your presence should help set the tone for appropriate behavior. Enforcing boundaries by ensuring participants remain in designated basketball areas only. Intervening promptly when behavior becomes unsafe, disrespectful, or out of control. Removing individuals from play temporarily if they need time to settle down. Dismissing participants from the gymnasium if behavior continues to disrupt the program or poses a safety concern. Preventing misuse of equipment and stopping any roughhousing or unsafe activity immediately Communicating any incidents, concerns, or repeated behavioral issues to leadership. The goal of this position is to ensure the gymnasium remains a controlled and safe space. Many of the teens participating during this time require consistent supervision and clear boundaries. Your role is to step in when necessary, redirect behavior, and maintain order so the program can run smoothly.
