About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for executing maintenance activities, system monitoring, and operational support to ensure reliable facility and equipment performance within a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment. This role oversees work requests, vendors, and routine/non‑routine maintenance while adhering to GEP, OSHA, and site safety standards. The technician monitors automation and critical utilities systems, troubleshoots technical issues, maintains accurate documentation, and supports cross‑functional teams including Quality and Manufacturing. The position requires hands‑on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in clean room environments. On‑call rotation and strong communication and leadership-by-influence capabilities are essential.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate an energetic, positive, "can‑do" attitude.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and equipment maintenance and operations.
  • Experience with BMS and CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, GxP regulations, and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience with Job Hazard Analysis and Lock‑out/Tag‑out (LOTO).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and climb steps/ladders as needed.
  • Experience working in clean room environments and understanding cleanroom processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing work requests, maintenance projects, and operational assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Escort vendors and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Be proficient in the operation of automation systems (BMS Metasys) and understand the sequences required for proper building operations.
  • Responsible for system monitoring and alarm responses.
  • Effectively work with cross‑departmental stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Apply Good Engineering Practice (GEP) to troubleshoot facility, equipment, or system issues.
  • On‑call responsibilities required on a rotating basis to cover off‑hour emergencies.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping practices and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
  • Comply with OSHA safety policies, regulations, and site procedures.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with assigned training curriculum.
  • Provide leadership for routine and non‑routine maintenance activities.
  • Execute root‑cause analysis and make recommendations.
  • Execute real‑time monitoring of critical utilities equipment, including WFI and RO systems, recognizing/identifying trends and systemic issues.
  • Continuous monitoring of pH systems and Biokill systems; assist in executing PMs and calibration within the CMMS.
  • Adhere to GMP requirements—ensure work order logs and documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Working knowledge of power and hand tools.
  • Ability to read system and engineering drawings (P&IDs).
  • Work safely and effectively within clean room environments; understand cleanroom processes, contamination‑control practices, and gowning standards.
