About The Position

Jump‑start your clinical experience! This program is for RT students who’ve completed their first year and want real‑world exposure. As an RT Extern, you’ll observe routine and advanced respiratory procedures, work closely with licensed RTs, and assist with preparing and cleaning life‑support equipment. It’s the perfect way to build confidence, sharpen skills, and get a feel for life on the respiratory care team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
• Resume required with application
• Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree-Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, clean, reassemble and perform quality control checks on reusable equipment.
• Observes and assists with the download of Nocturnal Oximetry reports.
• Auscultates lung sounds and reviews medical records in accordance with patient confidentiality policies, and observes al HIPPA regulations.
• Assembles oxygen therapy devices at bedside.
• Staff therapist will apply the device to the patient.
• Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
