See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Grade: 4 Position Overview: The Gun Runner Operator is responsible for spraying routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surfaces using a chop gun. This role involves maintaining proper millage on parts, utilizing open mold and vacuum infusion processes, and working with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives. Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements such as respirators, gloves, chemical resistance aprons, and chemical resistant suits.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability and desire to work in a hot and humid work environment, especially in the summer.
  • Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching, and climbing on and through stairs, molds, and staging throughout the duration of the shift.
  • Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, both planned and unplanned, to meet company goals.
  • Must follow all safety standards and procedures, including chemical handling standards and PPE.
  • Must adhere to all quality standards and adapt to new standards as processes evolve.
  • Must demonstrate a record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experience

Nice To Haves

  • Candidate should possess basic computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, both powered and manual.
  • Ability to maintain and adjust resin guns and pumps.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, job descriptions, and production schedules.
  • Working knowledge of quality system procedures and hazardous chemical handling and disposal.

Responsibilities

  • Spraying routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surfaces using a chop gun.
  • Performing elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials using various hand tools.
  • Maintaining proper millage on parts.
  • Utilizing open mold and vacuum infusion processes.
  • Installing wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.
  • Operating a variety of power tools including saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists.
  • Sanding fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.
  • Assisting with rolling glass when needed
