Gun Drill Machinist 2nd or 3rd Shift

The Gun Drill Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining gun-drill machines used in the fabrication of precision medical instruments and implants. This role ensures that all parts meet stringent quality standards through accurate machining, inspection, and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in precision machining or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain gun-drill machines, fixtures, and jigs to ensure efficient, precise, and consistent production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, inspection checklists, and written instructions to perform machining tasks accurately.
- Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Perform deburring operations to maintain product quality and compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Conduct straightening operations and light Swiss machining tasks as needed.
- Adjust machine settings, replace or sharpen tools, and make other modifications to meet production and quality requirements.
- Accurately record labor and production data using the ERP system, ensuring traceability and process documentation.
- Willingness and ability to cross-train in other machining areas as business needs require.
- All other duties as assigned.
