About The Position

GenCanna is seeking an experienced Gummy Formulator Consultant to support select, project-based formulation and commercialization initiatives. This is an independent consulting engagement, activated as business needs arise.
Scope of Engagement
The consultant will provide technical and formulation expertise across early-stage opportunity assessment through commercialization support.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience formulating gummy dosage forms (pectin and/or gelatin; sugar and sugar-free preferred)
• Hands-on experience with vitamin, mineral, and botanical systems
• Strong understanding of dietary supplement regulatory and cGMP manufacturing environments
• Ability to translate commercial concepts into practical, scalable formulations
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Sales

Nice To Haves

• Formulation of challenging actives, including minerals, amino acids, botanical extracts, and high-dose vitamin systems
• Experience with taste-masking strategies for bitter or metallic actives
• Knowledge of gummy coatings and finishing, including oil-based, wax-based, sugar, and non-sugar systems
• Experience addressing water activity, moisture migration, and texture stability over shelf life
• Familiarity with stability testing, accelerated aging, and shelf-life prediction for gummies
• Understanding of packaging interactions and their impact on gummy stability and appearance

Responsibilities

• Provide technical feasibility assessments of Sales-proposed gummy product opportunities (ingredients, claims, manufacturability, risk)
• Develop bench-top gummy formulations and samples for approved projects
• Collaborate with Formulations and Sales teams as needed to align technical feasibility with commercial objectives
• At GenCanna’s request—and at GenCanna’s expense—support commercialization and scale-up activities, including pilot runs, process troubleshooting, and manufacturing readiness
