Part-Time Guitar Instructor - Ages 6 to Young Adult

About The Position

The new instructor will focus on guitar / fret instruction. If the instructor is interested in giving voice and/or piano lessons, a small student base can be provided in those areas. The instructor will work with children ages 6 to young adult. Nearly all lessons are in-person at the UpBeat studio on North Elston Avenue, with virtual lessons offered in special circumstances. Overall duties include: - teach 30-minute individual guitar lessons - teach in group settings when needed - teach theory, technique, performance, and composition - utilize exercises and games to motivate students - conduct ongoing assessments of achievements through formal and informal testing - help to coordinate and support program activities - contribute towards organizing activities, curriculum design, and student / parent feedback This is an exciting opportunity for a talented musician to make a difference in the lives of youth through music. No teaching experience is required; full training will be provided.

Requirements

music education, training, lessons, etc. (we are unable to consider self-taught)
proficiency in guitar performance
understanding of music theory
a passion for working with youth

Nice To Haves

previous experience in music education, summer camps, or similar settings a plus
