As a Guest Service Volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm welcome and guiding them through the hospital with care and professionalism. Whether escorting guests to their destinations or assisting with tasks like wheelchair transport and flower deliveries, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and supportive hospital experience. This role involves standing for extended periods at the main entrance and offering friendly assistance throughout the facility. Requirements

  • Age 16+
  • Able to commit to a weekly 3-hour shift for at least 6 months
  • If you are a former or current MSK patient, you must be out of active treatment for at least one year
  • Friendly, reliable, and comfortable engaging with patients, families, and staff
  • Comfortable standing and walking around for extended periods of time
  • Tech savvy

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and friendly greeting to all visitors and patients entering the hospital, creating a positive first impression.
  • Accompany patients and visitors to specific areas, such as departments or waiting rooms, ensuring they reach their destinations with ease.
  • Answer general inquiries about the hospital’s layout, services, and visitor policies.
  • Assist with transporting patients in wheelchairs if needed, ensuring comfort and safety during their visit.
  • Support the delivery of flowers to the Information Desk and bring them up to patient rooms.
  • Round the first floor and set up magazines for patients and visitors to read.
