About The Position

The Guest Services position at ASM Global involves providing excellent customer service by welcoming guests to the venue, being knowledgeable of venue layout, programs, and policies. Responsibilities include answering questions, directing and escorting guests to important areas of the venue, and providing additional assistance whenever necessary. The role acts as the first point of contact for guests, greeting them for inquiries, resolving client issues over the phone, in person, and via email, and escalating to a supervisor when necessary. Monitoring guest conduct during arrival and exit is essential to ensure a safe and secure environment for all. Team members are required to complete all company and venue-required training and participate in guest services team meetings. Knowledge of all facility protocols is necessary to help ensure guests are safely following protocols while inside the facility, including reporting any injury or unsafe area to a supervisor and acting as a member of the emergency evacuation team. Additionally, team members may assist Guest Services management with retrieving lost and found property and participate in Guest Services related training exercises.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1-2 years' experience in a guest services related work environment.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to represent LACC and the Guest Services Department in an exemplary manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during large or high-profile events.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees, guests, clients, and service providers.
  • Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional guests, clients, and employees.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional attitude, demeanor, and dress appearance.
  • Good understanding of guest services roles in a facility environment.
  • Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in events and knowledge of convention/trades/consumer shows.
  • Education in business, hospitality, or tourism preferred.

Responsibilities
