About The Position

The Guest Services Coordinator supports all areas of Guest Services as assigned; coordinates event logistics with other departments and outside parties; coordinates volunteers and staff as assigned; supports on site guest and event client communication as assigned; assures preparation of necessary materials and supplies; and provides proactive hospitality at all times. This position reports to the Attractions & Transportation Enhancement & Compliance Manager. San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance seeks an individual with prior experience coordinating operations within attractions, hospitality, and entertainment environments to join our Attractions & Transportation team. We seek an individual who will collaborate, brainstorm, problem-solve, and support daily operations with a commitment to safety and guest services. Strong organizational skills are required to stay on top of multitasking duties in a fast-moving environment without difficulty. Project management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs are strongly desired. Highly motivated, enthusiastic, collaborative, and personable applicants are encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • Experience and/or course work that demonstrates general knowledge of tourism, hospitality, event/meeting coordination, fund-raising, group sales, catering, or recreational experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in communication, public relations, marketing, business administration, hospitality management, or a related field or equivalent specialized training.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams and with others in a diverse environment.
  • Effective customer relations skills and practices.
  • Able to use office and radio equipment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong attention-to-detail.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates event logistics on behalf of Guest Services, including the work of event staff. Acts as liaison to other departments and outside parties.
  • Supports all on site functions of Guest Services as assigned; Volunteer Services, Attractions & Transportation, Guest Ambassadors, and Admissions.
  • Supports Duty Manager as required by responding to guest incidents, actively resolves guest complaints, ensures readiness of facilities, and provides proactive hospitality at all times.
  • Coordinates administrative duties associated with operational readiness of assigned area within Guest Services department.
  • Improves the guest experience through thoughtful and deliberate attention to detail.
