About The Position

Guest Services Associates at Bloedel Reserve serve as front-line ambassadors, welcoming guests to the public gardens and ensuring a warm, organized, and memorable arrival experience. The role involves supporting admissions, membership, and retail sales, handling phone and email inquiries, and addressing day-to-day guest needs within the Gatehouse area. The Reserve seeks friendly, dependable team members who enjoy working with people, can remain calm in a fast-paced environment, and are dedicated to providing excellent service. Training is provided for this position, which is supervised by the Guest Services Manager and collaborates with the broader Operations team. The Reserve operates six days a week, and this role offers 16-25 hours per week. They are looking for three seasonal hires to work part-time through the end of August.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, including guests, members, volunteers, staff, board members, and special guests
  • A warm, professional, and dependable approach to guest facing work
  • Comfort with computers and technology, and a willingness to learn new systems and software
  • Ability to stay organized, flexible, and composed in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Weekend availability required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cash handling, point of sale systems, or customer transactions preferred
  • Additional flexibility is a plus
  • Interest in public gardens, hospitality, arts and culture, or guest experience work is welcomed

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and members with warmth, professionalism, and clear orientation to the property, programs, events, and daily offerings
  • Provide exceptional customer service that helps every guest feel informed, comfortable, and eager to return
  • Process admissions, membership, program, and retail sales accurately and efficiently using ticketing and point of sale systems
  • Answer phones and assist with guest questions related to visits, reservations, programs, events, and general policies
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Gatehouse and shop environment
  • Support guest flow during busy days, special programs, and events
  • Address routine guest questions and minor concerns with professionalism and good judgment, and communicate more complex issues promptly to the appropriate manager
  • Work collaboratively with Guest Services team members, volunteers, and staff across departments to support a smooth and welcoming guest experience
