About The Position

The Guest Services Associate I plays a crucial role in enhancing the experience of patient families and visitors at Phoenix Children's Hospital. This position is responsible for providing tailored information and assistance, ensuring that all guests have a positive and seamless experience while navigating the hospital's services and facilities. The associate acts as a liaison between guests and various hospital departments, coordinating services and addressing inquiries to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Phoenix Children's Hospital and the surrounding area.
  • Strong customer service skills and emotional intelligence to handle multiple demands.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement services for patients with special needs.
  • Experience using customer relationship/resource/request management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to relay confidence and credibility.

  • Familiarity with hospital operations and patient care processes.

Responsibilities

  • Connect patient families and visitors with clinical appointments, surgical procedures, and other services while adhering to safety and security policies.
  • Confirm the purpose of visitors using appropriate software and communication tools at hospital entrances.
  • Implement Infection Control screening tools as required.
  • Manage check-in procedures for couriers, vendors, and other service personnel.
  • Provide clear directions and navigational assistance using wayfinding tools and volunteer escorts.
  • Educate patient families and visitors on access restrictions and registration processes.
  • Act as a liaison for the surgical team in the surgery waiting area, if applicable.
  • Serve as the first point of contact in the Emergency department, checking in patients and confirming visitor access.
  • Document information accurately in patient accounts in the Emergency department, if applicable.
  • Accept cash and toy donations for the Child Life and Foundation departments, ensuring prompt delivery.
