About The Position

BASIC PURPOSE: Perform duties of Guest Service Agent, which includes, but not limited to the following: assisting guests upon check-in and check-out and as needed, transport contracted airline crews to and from the airport, transport hotel guests within a 3-4 mile radius, assist arriving and departing guests by: opening and closing doors for incoming and outgoing guests, loading and unloading guest luggage from courtesy van. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage. 2. Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions. 3. Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight. 4. Assist guest with storing and retrieving their luggage from the van. 5. Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts. 6. Open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner. Including but not limited to open vehicles and hotel doors to assist guests. 7. Maintain the cleanliness of the bellstand, lobby and baggage room. Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests. 8. Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby. 9. Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log. 10. Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms. 11. Drive hotel guests to and from the airport and other assigned trips, obeying all traffic rules and regulations constantly throughout shift to ensure a safe, accident-free trip. 12. Respond to guest questions, issues and problems regarding transportation, hotel services and local events, points of interest and activities. 13. Maintain the hotel van; gas, oil, cleanliness; filling in daily van reports and reporting any malfunctions on a daily basis. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist other departments of the hotel to provide excellent guest service. 2. Assist front desk with “behind the scene” duties which includes, but is not limited to: making key packets, passing out cookies to guests.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel services, local area events and activities
  • Ability to drive vans, limousines and automobiles and an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and push or pull a minimum of 150 lbs of various sizes of luggage, packages, coolers and boxes
  • Must be able to bend to lift luggage, packages, coolers and/or boxes that weigh up to 60 lbs
  • Must be able to drive a minimum of 150 miles per day at various times of day on an as needed basis
  • Tolerance to extremes in weather needed
  • Continually walking, standing, lifting or pulling, 90 to 95% of time, large step into van
  • Continuous standing 95% of time
  • Up to approx. 120 steps 10 % of 8 hr shft
  • Inside: 80 % of 8 hr shift
  • Outside: 20 % of 8 hr shift
  • Due to driving to be aware of all obstacles
  • Communication with Guests
  • Comprehend and communicate directions and hotel events

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Contact Experience preferred.
  • Second language may be desired.
