About The Position

The Valley Hotel, located in Homewood, Alabama, is seeking a Guest Services Agent to join their team. This role involves performing all desk-related functions, including checking guests in and out, making room reservations, and providing recommendations and directions. As the first point of contact, the Guest Services Agent is expected to greet guests warmly and handle various guest inquiries and requests. The position requires managing guest check-ins/check-outs, ensuring accuracy in registration, and resolving any guest complaints. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Three to twelve months of experience in a guest relations position.
• Excellent computer and cash handling skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Sociable, outgoing, and guest service-oriented demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Handle guest registration and room assignments.
• Provide quotes for room rates and upsell to guests.
• Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
• Collect payment for charges on the guest folio.
• Verify registration cards against the computer for accuracy.
• Pre-register and block reservations as needed.
• Manage guest check-ins/check-outs according to hotel policies.
• Ensure all cash and cash equivalents are accounted for.
• Resolve guest complaints and assist with inquiries.
• Manage phone activity and provide information to callers.
• Cancel room reservations according to procedures.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department regarding room status.
