The Guest Service Assistant Manager of Attractions and Events is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Guest Services team at Audubon Nature Institute, particularly focusing on attractions like Cool Zoo. This role includes managing staffing for events, ensuring high standards of guest service, and executing various operational tasks related to events and attractions. The position also involves maintaining financial records and assisting with office duties, all while promoting a positive guest experience.

  • Oversee daily operations of the Supervisors and Guest Service team members involved in Audubon Attractions.
  • Manage after-hours events at Cool Zoo and ensure appropriate staffing for third-party events.
  • Execute essential functions related to Cool Zoo, Cabana Rentals, Birthday Parties, and various events.
  • Assist with sales and financial aspects of events and maintain accurate client files.
  • Return all client phone calls within 24 hours and maintain staffing schedules.
  • Assist in managing department inventory and input sales data into tracking software.
  • Help train staff during the Cool Zoo opening and support operations when Cool Zoo is closed for the season.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Cool Zoo, Cabanas, and birthday party venues.
  • Promote additional items for events through up-selling and cross-selling techniques.
  • Maintain awareness of costs associated with events to maximize profit potential.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy is preferred but not required.
  • Cashier experience preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Affinity for animals.
