About The Position

As a Guest Service Agent, you will greet, register, and service guests in a friendly and courteous manner according to hotel/brand and sustainability standards. This role is essential in ensuring that guests have a pleasant experience from the moment they arrive until they check out. You will be responsible for various tasks including registering and assigning guests to hotel rooms, establishing methods of payment, and verifying credit. You will also make and confirm reservations, compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests. Additionally, you will transmit and receive messages using telephones or the PMS system, respond to guest requests in a timely manner, and receive and resolve guest complaints, elevating to a supervisor if necessary. Security of guests' valuables is also a priority, and you will assist in securing them in hotel safes or safe-deposit boxes when necessary. Other responsibilities include performing bookkeeping activities, being aware of guest satisfaction scores, and working towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction. You will practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards. During peak periods, you may assist in the breakfast area or help guests with luggage. Overall, your goal is to ensure guest satisfaction and perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience or equivalent training required.
  • Knowledge of PMS systems preferred.
