About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA is seeking a friendly and guest-focused Guest Service Agent to join our Front Office team. This position plays a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences through professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. Schedule & Availability This position requires full flexibility, with availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Availability: Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Customer Service Experience: Prior experience in a guest service or hospitality role required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers, multi-line phone systems, and Microsoft Office; hotel system experience preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism: Reliable, polished, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy in handling guest information and payments.
  • Ability to Stand for entirety of 8 to 10 hour shift.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior front desk or reservations experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: hotel system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests with warmth and professionalism throughout their stay.
  • Execute all check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with room reservations, dining reservations, and general guest inquiries.
  • Serve as a Hotel Operator when assigned, managing phone calls and messages with clarity and care.
  • Process payments, verify billing accuracy, and post charges appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Complete required reports and documentation accurately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Front Office leadership.
