The Guest Relations Specialist at Trail Winds Recreation Center is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the front desk, handling cashier duties, and performing various administrative tasks. This role involves interacting with customers, processing payments, scheduling reservations, and maintaining records, all while ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

  • Perform front desk services and operations, providing excellent customer service.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling records.
  • Communicate effectively with customers in person and over the phone.
  • Enforce policies and procedures related to facility use.
  • Assist in maintaining records such as inventory and activity reports.
  • Train and mentor less experienced staff on duties and procedures.
  • Control facility admission and process membership registrations.
  • Observe guest use and report any improper facility or equipment use to supervisors.
  • Assist with program registration during peak demand periods.
  • Act as Manager on Duty on limited occasions and assist with general facility supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of progressively responsible customer service, receptionist, or cash handling experience, preferably in a recreation setting.
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the City of Thornton and the department.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to handle money accurately and conscientiously.
  • Ability to work in a high-usage, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff as required.
  • Knowledge of RecTrac software.
  • Experience in recreation facilities and operations.
