About The Position

The Guest Experience Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in all front-line aspects of The Tech Interactive experience. This includes but is not limited to handling guest transactions (admissions, concessions, gift shop), IMAX theater operations, and exhibit and program facilitation. This position engages with school groups, families, and many other diverse audiences on a daily basis to provide superior service and guest experience. This non-exempt position reports to the Guest Experiences Management team.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma; or AA or BA in a related field (or a combination of coursework towards a degree and relevant experience).
  • Ability to engage and effectively communicate with diverse audiences in a variable-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service, public speaking, and listening skills.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, internet).

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of retail, sales, museum, and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in a traditional or non-traditional educational setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Operate point of sale system for admission, concessions, and gift shop transactions.
  • Operate the IMAX Media Control console and Spice Media Automation system. Monitor sound and image quality throughout the run of a film.
  • Handle food transactions and inventory in concessions according to Department of Health standards.
  • Support pre-show guest entrance into IMAX
  • Perform and delegate general housekeeping to maintain the appearance of the front of the house and the IMAX Theater.
  • Lead experiences with diverse audiences in our most open-ended program spaces using our Design Challenge Learning facilitation style.
  • Participate in required and optional training sessions to build and maintain customer service and facilitation skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of materials in exhibit and program spaces.
  • Greet school groups providing welcoming and introductory information.
  • Maintain current knowledge about The Tech's admission rates, membership options, special events, educational programs, and other visitor-related information.
  • Report non-functioning exhibits, electronics, or lighting to the Engineering and Facilities staff in a timely manner.
  • Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
