As a Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Inbound (Stocking) at Target, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that guests have an enjoyable experience in our smallest format stores. You will be responsible for various tasks including cashiering, stocking, and maintaining product presentation and price accuracy. Your role will involve providing exceptional guest service, customizing each experience, and anticipating guest needs. You will also support daily and weekly workloads to meet business priorities and sales goals.

  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
  • Observe and understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store.
  • Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
  • Work in all departments to ensure the sales floor is full, zoned, and in stock.
  • Push and stock product to the sales floor.
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all departments.
  • Conduct weekly price change workload and ensure accurate signing for all departments.
  • Complete scans and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support execution of major transitions and ISM.
  • Maintain interior and exterior brand standards.
  • Accurately execute all pulls and backstock product from all departments.
  • Process all inbound deliveries to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom daily and weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment only if certified.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up, and Drive-up.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow a multi-step process.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely.
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends and inventory management.
  • Experience supporting daily/weekly workload to support business priorities.
