About The Position

The Guardianship Case Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of client cases in guardianship status with Tribal Court, including coordination with Case Workers, development and monitoring of service plans to ensure the consistent provision of quality services in alignment with client-directed goals and objectives, and facilitation of internal and external resource referrals for legal guardians appointed by the Tribal or other Court Systems.

Requirements

  • Education Associates degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
  • Experience Two (2) years' case management experience in family or social services environment. Experience writing reports and creating dashboards.
  • License/Certification Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and remain insurable under the Tribe's policy.
  • Special Skills Knowledge of Court orders and procedures. Knowledge of common office procedures, equipment, and computer competency, including Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, and the public. Excellent communications, both verbal and written, for documenting written reports. Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Experience in case documentation.
  • This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resources to increase access for social, educational, career, housing, and other supportive services on behalf of guardians legally appointed to care for the person/wellbeing of children and/or vulnerable adults
  • Appear in Court proceedings on behalf of guardians
  • Conduct case management to ensure compliance with electronic case management systems
  • Complete client's assessment and report to the Courts, Social Security, Medicaid, and other authorities
  • Monitor and prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Provide training for guardians in parenting skills and child safety
  • Facilitate access to resources and application processes for children and families
  • Consistently and effectively utilizes program procedures, meet grant requirements and state and federal regulations
