Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The Fleet Powerplant Engineer reports to the Fleet Technical Manager and will team with the Commercial Aftermarket team to maximize contract performance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years prior experience with jet engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) overhaul processes, engine hardware, assembly, operation, and testing or an Advanced Degree and 3 years of experience with jet engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) overhaul processes, engine hardware, assembly, operation, and testing.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: jet engine power plant, project, test, design, process.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree concentration in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Familiar with Engine Manuals, Service Bulletins, and AD notes
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Broad knowledge of task/project management.
  • Substantial knowledge of Raytheon Technologies (RTX) and/or Pratt & Whitney (PW) projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage individual customer maintenance programs.
  • Execute customer maintenance programs for off wing maintenance through creating and administering engine workscopes.
  • Establish and effectively communicate engine shop visit requirements.
  • Coordinate with the engine center to insure effective implementation of work scope specifications, configuration requirements and specific engine shop maintenance instructions.
  • Support the Commercial Aftermarket, Fleet Technical Manager in developing the cross functional team with the engine center to insure smooth operational execution, continuous improvement in Shop Visit Cost and in Time on Wing.
  • Support the Commercial Aftermarket Regional Lead in delivering all customer contract required documents and performance.
  • Work with the Fleet Technical Manager to identify and manage emerging issues, as well as the assessment and mitigation of technical risks to minimize interval and cost impacts.
  • Evaluate hardware teardown conditions for potential, limit increases, part repair development or part redesign; Service Bulletin technical/business assessment.
  • Provide timely resolution of technical or business questions/issues the shop may have on specific engine or program requirements.
  • Support contract performance financial reviews - Estimate At Completion (EAC).
  • Travel domestically and internationally, up to 5% annually with typical durations of up to one week at a time.
