About The Position

The GTC Transactional Specialist is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of all document processing for distribution transactions.

Requirements

  • High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet, e-mail and a working knowledge of accounting software
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented
  • Must have the ability to interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must have working knowledge of accounting principles to include G/L processing

Responsibilities

  • Receives and maintains transactional documents for processing of any outgoing funds via withdrawal or transfer request.
  • Completes annual required minimum distribution (RMD) process for IRAs including notification to account holders, election of payments, letters of explanation and establishing transfers for monthly, quarterly or semiannual payments.
  • Reviews and prepares distributions such as Recharacterizations, Conversions, Secondaries, etc.
  • Follows-up with customers on outstanding documentation required for completion of files;.
  • Ensures quality control of all documents prior to sending to appropriate department for additional processing; and.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
