About the position

The GT Compressor Components Weekend Production Supervisor at Siemens Energy is responsible for managing the manufacturing area of Compressor Component products within the Gas Turbine products division. This role involves overseeing production processes, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading a diverse team to achieve operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Compressor Component products manufacturing area and oversee other departments on shift.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by all manufacturing personnel and maintain OSHA compliance.
  • Study daily operating results and collaborate with supervisors to resolve production problems.
  • Coordinate staff distribution and assist with training for new or transferred employees.
  • Authorize and evaluate overtime requirements for production employees.
  • Mediation of personnel problems and conduct disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Monitor customer production requirements and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Supervise documentation of employee attendance records.
  • Evaluate production reports and metrics to make informed decisions impacting operational goals.
  • Review performance against operating plans and standards.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree (BS) or Associates Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment involving welding fabrication and machining.
  • Experience in scheduling, line supervision, industrial engineering, or production control is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make decisions and evaluate options.
