About The Position

The position involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining assigned Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) used to support the transportation of Cabinet Members and other high-ranking national and international dignitaries. The role includes dispatching AGE to the flightline to support flying operations and aircraft maintenance, utilizing maintenance instructions and technical data for inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The individual will maintain hand and powered tools in an orderly manner, complete maintenance data forms, and make inputs into the Maintenance Information System (MIS). Additionally, the position requires assisting in the training and direction of assigned personnel while practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. The role may also involve working with fuel, oils, lubricants, chemical cleaners, and the disposal of hazardous materials according to environmental standards. Flexibility in working hours is required, including day, second, night shifts, and weekends. The individual will receive cross-utilization training and be qualified to perform maintenance tasks associated within their classification.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • A working knowledge of powered AGE repair procedures.
  • Specialized courses in powered AGE maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Two years recent experience as a powered AGE mechanic or equivalent.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal color vision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license.

  • Section 608 Technician Universal Certification for refrigerant.
