About The Position

As a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of airport service vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting and identifying defective or broken parts on vehicles, as well as making necessary repairs to gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong mechanical aptitude, as you will be tasked with maintaining the functionality and safety of various types of ground support equipment used in airport operations. You will be working at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), where operations run 24/7. Your schedule will be determined based on seniority and availability, and you must be prepared to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. The role demands that you possess your own mechanical tools and toolbox, as you will be responsible for a range of maintenance tasks that ensure the equipment is in optimal working condition. In addition to repairs, you will also be responsible for performing monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the equipment, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. You will need to be comfortable working in various weather conditions and be able to lift and move heavy equipment as part of your daily duties. This position is essential for supporting the aircraft services team by providing timely repairs and preventative care to equipment, thereby ensuring smooth airport operations.
